Potency Stones
These stones are beyond rare and are the most coveted diamond in the world, a treasure like no other. Revered for both their power and their beauty, to own one of these stones is to be the custodian of an unsurpassed heirloom; to gaze upon it is to view unfathomable beauty; to give one is to impart a gift that is truly beyond rare, and to touch one will energize with the power of Potency.
These small gems, rumored to be the essence of The Source’s power were first discovered by the ancients centuries ago, scattered around their crypts soon after they were embraced. Gathered from the tombs of the ancients, and infused with the potency of The Source, these stones will give one point each time they are touched by an undead hand.
Resembling masterfully Princess Cut Pink Diamonds, Potency Stones as they have come to be known are transferable objects that have the ability to increase the potency of either the owner, or another of their choosing.
Potency Stones have been found in three standard sizes, 1 carat, 5 carat, and the massive 50 carat jewel with the carat size directly linked to the amount of potency power they are able to generate. Tests on these stones have been conducted over the centuries with attempts in recreating their Potency giving effects however as yet, no stable synthetic substitute has been found.
Unconfirmed reports claim that one of the original Arch Vampires was able to reproduce the Potency giving effects of these gems, however the resulting matter was so unstable that the Arch Vampire and their entire blood line disappeared into dust. Variations on these rumors also claim that The Source, finding that the stones effect had been replicated was so enraged that he obliterated the Arch and the blood line from history. Yet other rumors claim that The Source, being impressed with the achievement, plucked the Arch from the earth to become his apprentice.
Whether these claims are true or not cannot be confirmed as no firm historical mention of the Arch has ever been found.
- Obtaining Potency Stones
- It may be possible to purchase stones from another; however extreme care should be taken to ensure that the stone is not a forgery, and that the stone itself has not been exhausted.
- Who can use this stone?
- This stone will add Potency to any Undead vampire.
- There are 3 available quantities, a 1 charge, a 5 charge, and a 50 charge. The 1 charge stone is 100L$, the 5 charge stone is 400L$, and the 50 charge stone is 3,000L$.
- The Potency crystals are in a restricted vendor, therefore only clan and house officers can buy from this vendor. Before you try to purchase a potency stone, please make sure that you are wearing the Progeny: Clan and House Officers group tag.
- How do I use this stone?
- After purchasing either the 1 charge, the 5 charge, or the 50 charge you can either rez the stone or add the stone to your avatar. (the best way is to add the stone to your avatar since it is so small. If you rez the stone on the ground you might lose it.)
- A pop up menu will then appear and you will be asked to select the recipient of the potency – either yourself or another avatar within 20meters.
- Each touch will grant one Potency Point to the avatar selected.
- Once the stone’s power has been exhausted, it will lose its luster and say that it has 0 charge.
