Re-sire Device

Re-Sire is a massively and mind-bogglingly complicated process. But the device I have created simplifies it as far as it is possible to simplify it and still make Moving as Voluntary as possible.

There are two types of Re-Sire Rites

Full Re-Sire Rite:

A Vampire who is not part of a blood chain wants to Re-Sire to another Line or a Different vampire in their existing line. If a Full Re-Sire vampire candidate ( called the Root Re-Sire AV ) has 1 or more progeny of their own, they are given the option to allow all of their descendants ( progeny, grand progeny, great grand progeny, etc…) to join them in the move, this may just be a generation change, a Blood Line change, or both. If the Root Re-Sire AV has chosen to allow a chains move, then each of his or her descendants must also use the device in a Follow Re-Sire Rite.

Follow Re-Sire Rite:

Also called a Join Re-Sire, happens when a vampire who is a descendant of a Root Re-sire Vampire wishes to join their ancestor in the move, they must use the Re-Sire Device to do a Follow Re-Sire. Each and Every vampire who is a descendant of the Root Re-Sire vampire that wishes to move with them need to do this. Or they will become orphaned Vampires when the chain collapses.

How to do a Full Re-Sire Rite:

- The new Sire sits on the “Sire Side” bench

- The Progeny ( Root Re-Sire vampire ) sits on the “Progeny Side” bench

- Cost of the Re-Sire is calculated and options for allowing Chain Moves and Pre-Paying the sum or all of your descendants’ moves is given.

- Someone Pays the Re-Sire Fee

- Re-Sire is executed ( takes some time, it’s complicated )

- Re-Sire is Done

- if you chose to allow a Chain Move, you must notify all of your Descendants that they have an opportunity to move with you if they wish to do so. They have 15 nights to follow you in the Re-Sire.

How to do a Follow Re-Sire:

- The Descendant progeny who wishes to join the Re-Sire, sits on the Progeny-Side of the device. NOTE! No one should be seated on the Sire side.

- The choice of Available Re-Sire chains the Descendant is a part of are given ( if more than 1 )

- Progeny Chooses the Rite they wish to follow

- Progeny pays the Join Fee ( 1L$ or 100L$ )

- Follow is Done

- Chain Collapse and Orphan Vampires

After 15 nights from the Root-Re-Sire, the Blood Chain will collapse, any vampire who has a sire that is a Void or a Shadow will become Orphaned vampires. All Voids and Shadows are removed, Orphans are Auto-Re-Sired up to the first Actual Vampire in the Blood Chain above them ( Generation Boost ).

Example:

Vampire X is the Sire of Vampire Y, Vampire Y is the Sire of Vampire Z, Vampire X is Gen 4, Vampire Y is Gen 5 and Vampire Z is Gen 6, Vampire X’s Sire is Vampire N

Vampire X does a Full Re-Sire to Vampire P, and chooses to allow Chain Re-Sire

Vampire X notifies his progeny and grand progeny that they can join his move.

Vampire Z chooses to Join, and is now a Gen 6 Vampire under Vampire N with a Void Sire ( place holder for Vampire Y )

Vampire Y declines to join the re-sire

After 15 nights. The voids and shadows are removed

Vampire Y is Re-Sired up and becomes a Gen 5 vampire under Vampire X’s old sire

Vampire Z becomes a direct progeny of vampire X and is now Gen-5

F.A.Q:

Why is my sire “Shadow”?

Your sire has re-sired to another vampire, if you do not join that re-sire as a follow re-sire, you will automatically be re-sired up to the first actual vampire above you when the Blood Chain Collapses ( and get a Generation Boost )

Why is my sire “Void”?

You have joined a follow re-sire and are part of a blood chain that has moved, but your original sire has not yet joined the re-sire. If your sire fails to join the rite before it ends, you will be automatically re-sired up to the first actual vampire above you in the blood chain ( and get a generation Boost )

My Sire Re-Sired into a new bloodline, but now I want to re-sire to another vampire, will my progeny be able to join my Rite or my Sire’s original rite?

They will have the option to join either.

I can’t sit on the “Sire Side”

You are trying to sit on the back rest. Sit on the lower bench portion of the seat.

Why is re-sire so expensive?

Expense depends on your situation. But in general Re-Sire is a truly optional element of the system and one that is massively complicated and was a major effort of development to make work correctly. It also has the tendency to get abused in favor of generation gains. All of these reasons contribute to it being expensive. But chief of these is to discourage its use except when there is serious need or great desire to move.

Why do my descendants have to Pay 100L$ ( or 1L$ ) to join my re-sire when I paid 1000 for them?

The 1000 L$ chain fee is strictly to allow for the chain move to be possible. And creates the void tree as place holders for your dependence to move into. Each Progeny must also pay the join fee for 3 reasons, #1 to ensure the move is voluntary, #2 some form of payment Min 1L$ is required to activate the device, #3 fairness, it is possible and has actually happened where 1 vampire who has several dozen of progeny has re-sired from gen 5 to gen 1 getting a +4 Gen Boost, each and every progeny below them who joined got that same +4 gen boost for just 100L$ each. A massive bargain.

Why is my blood line locked?

Your Arch Vampire has chosen to limit incoming re-sires into their line to only approved re-sires, speak to the Arch Vampire or Blood Regent of the line you wish to re-sire into in order to gain permission.

I changed my mind, can I undo my Re-Sire?

It may be possible in the future, but currently no, if you want to go back to your previous sire you would need to do a full re-sire again.

One of my descendants was on vacation, and missed the window to join my Re-Sire, can they still join me?

Sorry no, not without doing a full re-sire themselves, because the blood chain is now gone.

Do I need to re-sire in order to join a new clan?

No, you can re-liege and become a follower of a vampire in the new clan and become a member of the clan. This is free to do. Re-Sire should only be used in extreme situations where you find it unacceptable to remain the progeny of your original sire.

How come some of my Minions cannot join my re-sire but others can?

Only your direct descendants ( your direct progeny or their direct progeny etc. ) can join your re-sire, vampire who follow you but are not your blood descendants cannot join your re-sire, in fact if you have some Minions who wish to join your re-sire, and you will be making a Upwards change of generations, it is a good advice for them to re-sire to you, Before you re-sire to your new re-sire, then join your re-sire, it will be cheaper than re-siring directly to you after your re-sire.
