Embrace

In the Realm

The Gift of Lachiel requires a process for Sire and soon-to-be Progeny to undertake. This process is known as an “embrace” an act of consuming, and then giving blood to the mortal so as to bless them with the Infernal Gift. Essentially, the mortal faces death, being consumed of half of their blood before they ingest the supernatural blood of their vampiric Sire.

Upon completion of the act, the mortal becomes a Progeny, a member of a large family known as a Blood Line, under authority of an Arch Vampire. This, in turn, makes them affectionately descendants of Lachiel, The Source, a fallen angel who sought to the creation of a great species that dethrones mankind as the apex predator on Earth.

Often times, the Sire will hold a ceremony for the embracing of new Progeny. Whether lavishly decorated chambers, convening of family in the depths of dungeons or somewhere out, far away from civilization in immense forests under the moonlight, it’s not uncommon to see a ritual play out when giving the Gift with its immortality. These rituals usually establish a strong sense of community and connection for the Progeny, becoming memorable to them and among the most exciting moments that they may ever experience.

The System

Embracing a new Progeny is an ideally simple process. While the base-portion of the game system is free, being that the HUD and partaking in the community, there exists Potency as a way to ensure a Sire cannot abuse providing The Gift freely. Although they’re free to invest in Potency Stones to allow for easier access to Embrace more, the increase in requirement per Embrace increases to a maximum of 10 Potency per Embrace after the 10th Embracing. This sets a standard in being conscious in both members they bring into the fold and cost of investment if pursuing more as faster intervals is in their interest.

To Embrace, the mortal in question must be drained to Near Death, which is a total of draining 2.5 liters of blood. Upon doing so, the vampire who is embracing the mortal must have 5 out of 5 liters of blood and the required amount of Potency to proceed. If all conditions are met, the Sire then stands upon the poseball when ready, and so then the mortal follows along. Agreeing to being embraced, they will proceed to consuming the blood of their Sire, with a total of 4 liters drained from the Sire to give the Infernal Gift. When all of this is said and done, the Embracing is complete, and the Fledgling Progeny will receive their crate with the necessary tools to begin their immortal existence in Progeny.
