:: Guideline / Timeline ::

Guideline on procedures and expected timeline of cases from first stages to Court proceedings developed by Diabolic Kassie on behalf of The Diabolic Conclave, The Arch Judges Department and The Devil’s Advocate Office to increase the efficiency of cases and Court procedures respecting clarity, sanctity and propriety.

Fast time line: 576 hours


Case onboarding process (Deadline - 96 hours total)


1) Complaint received - Diabolic Kassie on behalf of Diabolic Conclave


1.1 - Complaints are introduced with a -Onboarding- status on the Web App.

1.2 - Once confirmed and reviewed by The Diabolic Conclave while ensuring no system laws were broken, the case proceeds to receive the status of -Accepted-. If the case contains sensitive information or are system-level issues, the case proceeds to receive the status of -Rejected- and will pass into the hands of the Diabolic Conclave.

1.3 - It will be in the power of the Diabolic to assign each case to a specific DA Chief.

1.4 - Diabolic procedure is not included in the timeline, the Diabolics are busy beings.


2) Accepted status: (48 hours) - DA Chief


2.1 - The DA Chief reviews the accepted case file, reading over the incident report.

2.2 - The DA Chief will write up a justification report on the Web App specifying why the alleged incident is in their sole opinion under the Progeny Legal System jurisdiction.

2.3 - Based on the information provided by the plaintiff, the DA Chief will seek the options of Advocates free from any conflict of interest.


3) Assigned Status: (Instant) - DA Chief


3.1 - The DA Chief will appoint two Advocates via the Web App, one as Defendant and One as Prosecutor.

3.2 - The DA Chief will write up the assignment notes in the Web App notes field and the case will proceed to change its status to -Assigned-.


4) Approached Status: (48 hours) - DA Chief, Advocates & Clients


4.1 - The two chosen Advocates then meet with their clients and proceed to their own investigations, and gather evidence to build their cases. (See interviews & advocate guide procedures)

4.2 - It will be the responsibility of both assigned DAs to send back to the DA Chief a report and conversation of the whole case for a final review. (See Interview Report format).

4.3 - Once the DA Chief approves, both Advocates will post the report in the Web App notes field. (See 4.2 since all evidence should be saved here for the trail to use)

4.4 - The DA Chief will write up the approval notes in the Web App notes field and the case will proceed to change its status to -Appointed-.

4.5 - A new representation may be required from any of the clients in no more than two days after the first established communication with their assigned DA. Even though it will not affect this timeline, the new assignment should be resolved by the DA Chief in less than 2 days after a new representation is requested. (See New representation request form)

4.6 - In case that a new representation is requested, the DA Chief will have to write up the respective notes in the Web App notes field.

4.7 - In case that the defendant decides not to respond to the assigned Advocate, the process will continue until the trial. (See 6.6)



Escalation process (Deadline: 336 hours total)


5) Appointed Status: (48 hours) - Chief Justice, Judges


5.1 - The Chief Justice receives and reviews the case

5.2 - The Chief Justice will seek an option of Judge free from any conflict of interest.

5.3- The Chief Justice will assign one Principal Judge and one Auxiliary Judge by the Web App and will write up the assignment notes in the web app notes field. The Auxiliary Judge may act in case the Principal Judge is absent due to an emergency and/or depending on the type of case that requires two judges.

5.4 - The Chief Justice will notify the assigned Judge by Discord that they received a new case.

5.5 - The assigned Judge will write up a reception note in the Web App notes field.

5.6 - The Chief Justice will proceed to change its status to -Summoned-.


6) Summoned Status: (72 hours) - Chief Justice, Advocates, Judges & Clients



6.1 - The assigned Judge will look over the case material and will send a formal Pre-trial Summons to both parties. (See Summons Letter Template)

6.2 - The Judge will coordinate the trial/negotiation date by an individual meeting with both legal representatives and clients at the Court's building.

6.3 - During the course of the Judge´s meeting with both parties, the Defendant must inform whether he accepts the demand or not.

* Accepting the complaint and requesting a negotiation with the plaintiff.

* Deny the complaint and proceed with the Trial .

6.4 - The negotiation/trial date will be set on the first Saturday and Sunday after the formal pre-trial summons has been sent, the recommended time to schedule the negotiation/trial is between 10:00 to 18:00 SLT.

6.5 - The Judge will write up the agreed date and the plaintiff's decision in the Web App notes field.

6.6 -The Chief Justice will proceed to change the case status to -Negotiation- or -Trial-, depending which is the case.

6.6 - In case that the defendant still does not answer to the assigned DA for its defense nor the Judiciary’s Arch Summons, the Judge may choose to increase the penalty and summon a/the House/Clan Officer/s instead to pay the penalty. If the defendant is not under any house/clan protection, the Judge may request a Kill On Sight order to the Grand Council Sovereign Clans and will be a fugitive from justice until the defendant faces the charges.


7) Negotiation or Trial Status: (120 hours - 216 hours) - DA Chief, Advocates, Chief Justice, Judges, Clerk & Clients



7.1 - Once the status of the case has been updated, the defendant cannot change his mind.

7.2 - In case that the Defendant has chosen to negotiate, it must be done in the presence of the Advocates of both parties and the Judge, the plaintiff will have an offer of compensation for the damages and they will subsequently negotiate the deal. (See Negotiation Statutes)

7.3 - The negotiation period cannot exceed more than 120 hours in total.

7.4 - In case that the defendant has chosen to go to trial, all statutes and formalities of a Trial will apply. The trial period cannot exceed more than 216 hours. (see Trial Statutes)

7.5 - The Trial and the Negotiation will be captured in text by the Clerk and later, the Trial verdict will be published by the Judge in the Web App notes field. (See Clerk Services)



Post Trial Process (Deadline: 144 hours Total)


8) Resolution: (48 hours - 96 hours) - DA Chief, DA Assessors, Chief Justice, Judges, Executioners, Clerk & Clients


8.1 - Once the negotiation/trial is concluded and the resolution was passed with no appeal (appeal only applied in a trial), the Judge will pass the order to the Executioner to oversee the fulfillment of the penalty within the next two days.

8.2 - The choice of the executor will be the responsibility of the Judge in turn and it is established that the role of Executioner may only be designated to Blood Regents.

8.3 - Appeals are to be received up to two days after celebrating the trial. After that point the resolution will remain as the final word passed on the time of the trial.

8.4 - If the Chief Justice receives an appeal to the resolution, it should be resolved within the next two days after receiving the formal appeal.


9) Closed: (48 hours) - Judges, Executioner and Clerk


9.1 - Once the Executioner extends his/her report to the Judge, the judge will determine the closure of the case.

9.2 - If the case process has been completed, the case will receive the status of -closed-. At this point, the Judge will summon a Clerk to prepare the final document for the case and proceed to make it public within two days. (See Final Report Templete)
