La reputación los vastagos del clan Ventrue tienen una reputación de honorabilidad, gentileza y gusto impecable. Desde tiempos inmemoriales han sido el clan del liderazgo, haciendo cumplir las antiguas tradiciones y buscando dar forma al destino de los Vastagos. Actualmente el clan recluta a sus miembros entre las acomodadas familias del "dinero viejo", despiadados trepadores corporativos y políticos. Sea cual sea su origen, preservan la estabilidad y mantienen el orden en la Camarilla. Otros vampiros suelen tomar esto por arrogancia o avaricia, pero para los Ventrue, su papel de pastores es mas una carga que un honor.

Aunque el combate ha pasado de los campos de batalla a las salas de juntas y de las palestras de los torneos a los distritos electorales, el clan Ventrue sigue peleando. Los jóvenes levantan y dirigen a sus tropas con sus teléfonos móviles y limosinas, mientras los antiguos miran hacia el horizonte en busca de amenazas que se acercan como nubes de tormenta. Muchos dominios bajo el control de la Camarilla estan supervisados por ellos, y se muestran reacios a relajar su presa sobre logros que han costado tantos esfuerzos. La reputacisn y el éxito pueden llevar lejos a un vampiro en el clan Ventrue, pero nada de ello cuenta si no puede mantener su influencia. Otros vampiros suelen difamarlos, acusandoles de ser pomposos, parsimoniosos o incluso tiranicos... pero es a ellos a quienes acuden cuando algo va mal. Los Ventrue cultivan, influencian y (cuando pueden) controlan los medios de comunicación, policia, política, sanidad crimen organizado, industria, finanzas, transporte y hasta la Iglesia del ganado. Cuando otro vampiro necesita ayuda los Ventrue pueden proporcionarsela... por un precio. Por supuesto, tienden a establecerse en la parte superior de la sociedad humana, donde su sofisticación les resulta muy útil. Aunque se mueven en los mismos círculos sociales que los Toreador, no derrochan su existencia en frivolidades y charlas insulsas. Lucen orgullosos los privilegios del liderazgo y soportan estoicamente sus cargas. Siempre ha sido así, y siempre lo sera.
