Draught of Life

The Draught of Life is a substance developed by The Source with the ability to resurrect the corpse of a shade.

The Draught of Life has been known by various names throughout human civilization, the most common being the Elixir of Life, and the Fountain of Youth. These names, among others have also included Amrit Ras or Amrita, Aab-i-Hayat, Maha Ras, Aab-Haiwan, Dancing Water, Chasma-i-Kausar, Mansarover or the Pool of Nectar, Philosopher's stone, and Soma Ras (one scholar of Chinese history reportedly found over 1,000 names for it). The word elixir was not used until the 7th century A.D. and derives from the Arabic name for miracle substances, "al iksir."

Some also believe this potion to be the spirit of God (e.g. Jesus' reference to "the Water of Life" or "the Fountain of Life") John 4:14 "..But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life”.

Tests on several of the reported Elixirs commonly referred to as ‘Snake Oil’ of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, reported to cure all human ailments from the common cold to terminal cancers, have each contained trace amounts of the Draught of Life and also often containing other ingredients including arsenic, mercury, snake venom, blood, or were simply diluted with water or whiskey.

The Draught of Life has also found its way into more commonly known objects. Including higher-end beauty products, anti-aging creams and antiviral medications. Current Tests on the Draught of Life have also proven its ability as a cure for diseases such as Cancer, Human immunodeficiency virus infection / acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) and other life threatening illnesses.

• As the Draught of Life’s main content is a magical substance best described as “Life” itself, its use by undead creatures is not recommended and may in fact harm or destroy such a creature.

• Who can use this draught?
• This draught will restore a human to healthy state if they are a shade.
• There are 2 available quantities, a 1 pack for 125L$ and a 5 pack for 500L$.

• How do I use this draught?
• 1) To Use the Draught of Life, it must be attached to the right hand of the target avatar - it will not work if not attached or attached to another attachment point.
• 2) While the object is worn, the wearer can click on it, allowing access to the menu system.
• Dialog displayed on the menu system is automatically customized to the wearer’s preferred Language or, if the language is unsupported or undetectable, will default to English. (Currently English and Spanish are supported)
• 3) The menu will give two options, “Open” and “Use”
  • The ‘Open’ option is purely optional, and is intended for enhancement of role play
  • The ‘Use’ option will also open the lid of the vial
• 4) Use
  • When Use is selected, you will be given a warning and asked to confirm your intention.
  • Selecting ‘Yes’ will activate the item, selecting ‘No’ will reset the item and close the lid.

NOTE:

• This item is not intended for use by vampires, you can be slain if misused
• This item is a single-use object, once it has been used, the object will be depleted, the scripts removed and only the empty shell will be left causing no script lag should it be rezzed in world for display purposes should you wish to do so.
