In a move that is bound to be cheered and cursed by many, I the Source, from my throne in Hell, did upon last morrow’s eve decide to solve some issues in the mortal realm with regards to my immortal children.

After fretting upon this issue upon ages and with the support of a majority of my Diabolic Lords, I chose to form a Schism in two of our Vampire Blood Lines. Arch Regents Very Sinister and Rade Plasma have been elevated, transmuted through mystic ritual into full Arch vampires with full Blood Lines of their own. The Mantle of Power for the Blood Line known as Dark Retribution has been returned to its founder Dark Nymphea and the Mantle for Fraternus Cruor to Trinity Vuissent. This move has had no direct effect on Clans or Houses. Sovereigns remain sovereigns of their current Clans.

The ramifications of this unholy ritual are as follows.

Waiver on Re-Sire

In order to ensure vampires loyal to a specific Arch have the opportunity to stay with the Arch they wish, they will have 15 nights to Re-Sire to the Schism blood line with all costs waived except that of Generation Changes greater than one. This offer applies only to vampires within the Schism lines and only to their counterparts. So for example Vampires who are a descendant of Trinity can re-sire to Very or one of his descendants. If the moving vampire gets a generation boost greater than 1 upwards towards the Arch then that portion of the generation fee will not be refunded. This offer would not apply if a vampire under Trinity wanted to re-sire to Dark who is outside of their specific Schism.

Blood Line Extinction

One of the major reasons for this move is to open the door for the future additions of new blood lines though the extinction of old and inactive lines. A line that finds itself without an Arch Vampire or a sitting Blood Regent will lose the ability to generate potency. They will also receive the same Re-Sire waiver as detailed above except they can use it to re-sire into any healthy blood line.

If a time exists where all vampires in a given Blood Line are slain, in a coma or hibernating, it will be dusted and go extinct. If the number of active Blood Lines drops below nine, I will elevate a new Arch Vampire choosing from past Blood Regents.

This will allow for fresh blood to periodically, though infrequently, be introduced to Progeny.

Arch Vampire Candidacy

In the future to become eligible for full Arch vampire-hood a given vampire must have served as Blood Regent. The available pool of possible Arch Vampires includes all previous Blood Regents, regardless of standing, but service record will be taken into consideration by the Diabolic Council.

Blood Line Names

In order to further distinguish Blood Lines from Clans as being Sub-Species of vampires rather than Political units, all future Blood Lines will be named after the Arch Vampire from which they spring forth (by the diabolic council). Existing blood lines are all grandfathered and will continue under the names for which they are currently known. Of course, any new blood line may refer to itself as it wishes but the system and the community will know it by its official Lineage name.
