History: A bloody extinct in all eyes, except his own, the Tlacique played only a small part in the history of the Kindred. Although the other clans have almost forgotten them, the children of Tezcatlipoca have not forgotten those who invaded their home, and certainly have never forgiven them.

The offspring who came to Mexico with the conquistadores discovered that the cities of the New World, much larger and more prosperous than they had expected from the "barbarous pagans," harbored an active population of native vampires. Some were Gangrel, some Nosferatu, but the most influential native lineage was Tlacique. The declared descent of Tezcatlipoca, the Jaguar, god of the night, mirrors, smoke and black magic. They govern openly, in a way that is not seen from Carthage, in small family groups called cliques. The Nahualli, Tlacique blood sorcerers, took away the hearts of the sacrifices on the great pyramids and drank their blood. The Tlaciques proclaimed themselves gods, and their people adored them.

The Camarilla could have claimed a great ally, since the natives treated the Spaniards as guests of honor, and the Tlacique was happy to negotiate with the foreign Kindred. And they negotiated that they did, until smallpox devastated their people and the conquerors sacked their cities and plunged their faithful into slavery. This was not the fault of the European Kindred; Mortal avarice, not Cainita influence, led the course of Spanish explorers. But Tlacique, who ruled his own people, could not conceive that Europeans did things differently. If the newcomers oppressed the natives, it must be so because the Camarilla Kindred desired it. The Tlaciques learned that they could not face the newcomers alone. They had learned, however, from another faction of Kindred, newly arrived from Europe, a sect that counted the Camarilla among its enemies. The Tlacique allied with the battled Sabbat.

This alliance lasted only the time it took to drive the Camarilla from Mexico. The Tlacique soon realized that the Sabbat exalted violence. The Tlacique had innumerable bloody and ritual traditions, but the Black Hand had no meaning; his enthusiasm for adopting the rites of Tlacique was rooted in sadism, not faith. His former allies were more depraved and more dangerous than the Kindred of the Camarilla who had expelled them from their lands. The Tlacique fought the Sabbat in turn, and lost it miserably. The Sabbat almost eliminated the natives in numerical inferiority and demonized their elders. The few survivors of Tlacique dispersed to distant communities. The Black Hand thought them dead and disappeared; the Camarilla forgot them in the face of the Sabbat's aggression. The Tlacique became a dark legend in the lands they once ruled.

After four centuries of hiding, that "legend" is vengeful and hungry. Perhaps less than a few Tlacique exist tonight, hidden throughout South and Central America and the southwestern United States. Slowly, they reestablish communication lines. For the first time, they work together as a unified bloodline. They look for the resting places of those sleeping old people that the Sabbat lost in their purge. They launch guerrilla attacks in the Sabbat enclaves, determined to recover their stolen lands.

The Sabbat is again at war, they have not yet discovered with whom.

Nickname: None. Nobody knows that they exist; Who will give them a nickname?

Sect: The Tlacique do not claim allegiance to any sect, but they have a budding alliance. His interest in purging the Sabbat of Central America and his links with the Aztecs and Mayans provide common ground with the Pisanob branch of the Giovanni. Negotiations are still tentative at this point, but the elders of the Sabbat and the Camarilla would shudder to think of what these two groups could achieve together, if they knew that the Tlacique existed at all.

Aspect: The few surviving elders of Tlacique are natives of Central America. Some younger Tlacique come from immigrants who now live in the USA. UU., Although the majority comes from populations south of the border. Whether they live in a Third World town, impoverished by poverty or a bustling metropolis, the Tlacique try to mingle with the surrounding population.

Haven: Tlacique in the big cities reside almost anywhere, from apartments to abandoned basements. Those who live in less sophisticated or rural areas prefer houses and cabins with the best wood floors. A few paranoid tlacique who have mastered Earth Meld have no shelter, sinking into the ground with each dawn. The majority of Tlacique decorate their shelters with native crafts and other reminders of their heritage and purpose.

Background: The Tlacique considers any person from the south of Central America descended by the Embrace, as long as it shows sympathy and utility for the cause.

Character Creation: Because they are very few and scattered throughout the enemy territory, the Tlacique seek self-sufficiency in their progeny, either in terms of Skills or Behavior. The main attributes vary according to the reason why the individual was chosen for the Embrace. They also look for those who show signs of social responsibility, particularly in the areas of native rights and cultural preservation. Although the bloodline remains conservative and they do not like the undisciplined girl, the elderly relax this restriction somewhat on modern nights.

Clan Disciplines: Obfuscation, Presence, Proteus (The "predetermined" predatory form for the Shape of the Beast is a jaguar, instead of a wolf).

Weaknesses: The Tlacique suffer exceptionally severe penalties for sunlight and other illumination (such as a reflector).

Organization: The Tlacique still struggle to establish a new social order, to the annoyance of the elders who yearn for the structure of the past nights. The state is based on age, although young members are respected simply because they are much better able to deal with the modern world. Ancillae has the real power, receiving blessings and instructions from the elders and as a mentor of the activities of newborns. The state is also influenced by the Nahuallotl domain.

APPEARANCE: The Tlacique have American Indian features. They have fibrous bodies and they like to get tribal tattoos on their skin.

DISCIPLINES: Obfuscation, Presence, Protean (the sorcerers of the Clan handle their own magic paths, called as a whole Nahuallotl)

WEAKNESSES: These Vampires suffer more damage than normal by sunlight or being subjected to very bright lights.

CLAN PADRE: Followers of set
