1.0 SCOPE OF WORK // DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES // CHIEF DEVILS ADVOCATE (CDA) (Legal Advisory Administrator)



The Chief(s) Devil’s Advocate (CDA) is the hierarchical head of the Office of the Devil’s Advocate. This position serves primarily as administrator of the 'DA (Legal Advisory Officers)' as well as the workings of the office itself.


- The CDA is charged by the Diabolic Council to develop and implement all procedures, tasks and rules of the Office of the Devil's Advocate as well as to work with the Arch Judiciary Officers in order that the two sections work as cooperatively as possible.

- The CDA is tasked with reviewing the case work of a DA's research to make sure it is done within the standards and authority of their position as Legal Advisory Officers and to make certain the knowledge and material needed for a given case is provided.

- To review suggestions of the findings and forward those findings and suggestions with the whole file of that claim to the perspective authority that would be handling the issues that have merit, i.e. the Arch Judiciary Officer. This may be done through a Scribe assigned to the Officer of the Devil's Advocate.


The Chief Devil’s Advocate can also be involved in undertaking 'ALL' duties that a 'Devil's Advocate Legal Advisory Officers' can undertake (see the TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE POSITION OF CHIEF DEVILS ADVOCATE document).


1.1) DUTIES


The selection and dismissal of, DA Legal Advisory Officers. The criteria for selections and dismissals can be found in section 3.2.0.


-Provide access to a list of DA Legal Advisory Officers for the community so they can have options of who they would to work with. It is important to note that the selection of one’s own DA will not always be possible due to potential conflicts of interest.

Liaison to all institutional partners, i.e. Diabolic Powers, Arch Judiciaries and Bloodline/Clan associated Leadership.


-Liaise with scheduling court dates for matters that reach the judiciary phase.


-Forwarding matters on to the relevant body where the office of the Devil’s Advocate may not make representations.

Assigning of cases to DA Legal Advisory Officers.

Providing training and assistance to DA Advisory Officers.

Maintaining correct archiving of documents created or lodged to the Arch Court and Office of the Devil’s Advocate. Provide documents of use, i.e. Cases, Investigation, Findings.

Making initial determinations (Not Judgements) on the merit of a case and if valid, what jurisdiction a matter might fall under, i.e. Internal (Bloodline/Clan Laws), Political (CoH/GCSC Law), System (Diabolic Law) or Arch Conclave Procedural (Arch Guidelines). Providing the reasons 'why' a matter has merit or falls under a determined jurisdiction.

Provide access for the reception of cases against the DA's office and the Judiciary.

Maintain an accessible area for the entire system to locate the documents needed to issue a complaint.
