- Merriam - Webster defines History as:
- 1 tale, story
- 2 A chronological record of significant events (such as those affecting a nation or institution) often including an explanation of their causes.
- 3 A branch of knowledge that records and explains past events.
- The Progeny Vampire System has been around since 2009 when our Source Lord Lachiel Vaher decided to develop a vampire system for the Second Life meta-sphere that more closely related to the Lore of the Vampire.
- In the years since Progeny's creation, many events have taken place, many members have come and gone, and many changes have redefined what Progeny is or has become.
- Not all of Progeny's history has been pretty: The wars, the strife, the bickering that has often overshadowed the important events that were taking place at the time, but the ugly is still part of Progeny's history.
- A lot of Progeny's history is beautiful: The rituals, the traditions, the creation of new Arch Vampires, new Bloodlines, new Diabolic's, the growing number of Houses and Clans, and the embracing of a fledgling ... to name just a few. These things provide us a rich history to make it worth the trouble of trying to exist in our world.
- But alas, a lot of the History has been lost or is scattered around the realm, unavailable to those that wish to learn of Progeny's past. Many new kindred have no idea of what progeny was intended to be or the reason of it's existence.
- I have been a member of Progeny for over 2600 days. I was Embraced into Darkwing House by now Arch Rachel Sinister and learned my way around under her guidance. I remember the war between Ravens Claw, lead by Arch Oberon Eames and the Eternal Life Bloodline, lead by Arch Fides Torres. I was a member when Lord Super Dexxing, Arch Vampire of the Brotherhood of Blood Bloodline, was made the first Diabolic and the first Lt. of Hell, passing his Bloodline to Arch Trinity. When Lord Oberon was promoted to Diabolic, turning his line Ravens Claw over to Arch Ledge Eames.
- Like I said before, A lot of Progeny's history is beautiful, a lot is messy and ugly, but it is the history of our world, of what we are and what we have become.
- Facts you may not know:
- The Bloodline, Societas Draconistrarum, founded by now Diabolic Nestis Belmont Carthage is the oldest continuing Bloodline in Progeny. After her promotion to Diabolic, SD was lead by Arch Domino Franizzi and after his promotion to Diabolic, it is being led by Arch Resa Carthage.
- At one time there was a position called Arch Regent. This position was a temporary position that was held by only two vampires, Lord Rade Plasma and Lord Very Sinister. After a period of time, Lord Very Sinister was promoted to Arch of the Shadows of Blood Bloodline and Lord Rade Plasma was promoted to Arch of the Bloodline Bastion.
- On the 5th of August, 2011, Lord Oberon Eames, Arch Vampire of the Ravens Claw Bloodline issued a Declaration of War against the Eternal Life Bloodline, then led by Arch Vampire Fides Torres. Also issued By Lord Oberon was an Order of Execution against the following vampires: Rade Plasma, (Later Arch Vampire of the Bastion Bloodline), Ashe Tigerfish, Vampiregirlx Resident, Beth Darkmatter, Raven Oppenbaum, and Fides Torres. A reward of 10,000 Lindens was offered to any one that delivered the head of Fides Torres to Lord Oberon.
- After talking to several people in our realm, it has become clear that a lot of our history is either lost, misplaced, misunderstood, or just plain not known by the populace of our realm. With the permission of Lord Oberon, I am making an informal attempt to compile a history of our world, out leaders, and our existence.
- I realize this is going to be a major task, one that may be frustrating, irritating, and a royal pain, but with the help of the populace, maybe, just maybe, our history can be found, saved, and with a little luck, and become an endeavor of enjoyment.
