Progeny: Familiars — The Mortal Kin of the Kindred

Within the vast and secretive world of Progeny: Vampire, there exists a rare and coveted class of mortals known as Familiars. These individuals, chosen with intention and bound by loyalty, walk beside the kindred as trusted companions, guardians of the Masquerade, and participants in the shadowed society that rules the night. Though mortal, Familiars belong to an elite race whose lives are forever altered by their service, devotion, and sworn allegiance to the kindred. Their journey is not one of vampiric rebirth, but of awakening — a transformation of purpose, identity, and duty.

Familiars are invited into this world by their sire, and with that invitation comes responsibility. Upon registration, each Familiar swears to uphold the same sacred Masquerade laws that govern the kindred themselves. These laws protect our society from exposure, ensuring that the supernatural remains hidden from mortal eyes.

Once a Familiar’s registration is complete, they are issued their no‑copy HUD, a sacred tool designed to guide them through their new existence. The knowledge contained within this HUD is privileged and must never be shared. It is both compass and shield, offering insight into the supernatural world and the dangers that dwell within it.

Upon registration, Familiars receive access to both the Progeny Familiar in‑world group and the Discord group, granting entry to all Progeny territories. These are the gates to the underworld — step through them, and you join a living nation of mortals and immortals intertwined.

The Familiar group hosts gatherings, classes, celebrations, and open office hours. Within their dedicated island, Familiars may study, socialize, and grow. The classroom offers structured learning; the events area provides entertainment and camaraderie; the office hours ensure guidance is always within reach.

Those who wish to contribute to the entertainment and cultural life of the Familiars may submit an application to the group’s mailbox. Service to the community is a respected path, and many Familiars rise to prominence through their dedication.
