Gangrel are considered the most feral and predatory of the Kindred, and because of their reclusive natures, animalistic tendencies and loose organization, are the least social of the Cainites, preferring solitude to society.
They also tend to be extremely territorial and possessive; to enter a Gangrel's territory without permission is certain death. They do have their role and reputation among the Kindred as fierce warriors.
The Gangrel are wanderers. They do not sit on thrones of marble or scheme in velvet halls like other clans. They walk the forgotten roads, the broken alleys, the wild forests where the Beast still rules.
They call them outcasts, rebels, yes, the ones who disagree with certain traditions. Their claws tear like a predator’s, their eyes glow with feral hunger, and their tempers are as sudden as a wolf’s snarl. But to dismiss them as mere beasts is a mistake. The Gangrel know the earth, the sky, the scent of prey and the weight of silence. They survive where others starve, endure where others fall, and vanish into the wilds when the hunt grows too close.
- Their connection with the Kuei-jin
One of the Gangrels drifted into Kamagasaki, Osaka’s slum of the forgotten. Among the desperate and the dying, she felt strangely at home until she sensed other predators watching. The Kuei-jin emerged from the shadows, warning her that this was their ground.
Instead of fighting, the Gangrel offered her claws where their codes bound them. Together, they drove off yakuza, Sabbat strays, and other Cainites who tried to feed on the slum.
