Sanguis Novus is a clan founded by Neo Rookstown and formally pledged on February 26, 2026. The clan traces its origins to the Progeny house known as the International House of Pancakes (IHOP), a neutral gathering place where Kindred from across the night could meet beneath a simple rule: grievances paused at the door, and no conflict began before the second stack.
The foundations of Sanguis Novus were first laid under the Harbingers of Blood, where the house was permitted to take form under the watchful and occasionally adventurous sponsorship of Arch ZoeBlue. What began there as an experiment in hospitality and diplomacy gradually developed into a functioning community of Kindred who valued presence, loyalty, and the strange stability that comes from a table that is always open.
As the culture of the house grew, so too did the structure around it. Over time, what began as a gathering place evolved into something more defined, shaped not by decree but by consistency. The bonds formed within the house proved durable, and from those bonds, Sanguis Novus emerged as a formal clan, carrying forward the traditions and philosophy that had already taken root.
The philosophy of Sanguis Novus is intentionally simple. The clan rejects the idea that immortality must be defined by solemn suffering or rigid hierarchy. | History: | Before Sanguis Novus existed as a clan, there was a house — and before the house, there was simply a diner.
The International House of Pancakes began as a modest late-night establishment run by Neo Rookstown during his mortal life. The diner had little in the way of success or reputation among the living, but it developed a peculiar following among the sleepless and the forgotten. The lights stayed on too late, the portions were far too large, and the atmosphere carried an odd sense of comfort that lingered well past midnight. After Neo’s Embrace into undeath, the diner did not disappear. Instead, it evolved. What had once been a mortal restaurant gradually transformed into a gathering place within the night. Neo formalized the concept into a Progeny house, keeping the same welcoming spirit that had defined the diner in life. The result was something unusual even among Kindred society: a neutral ground where vampires from different clans and allegiances could meet without the immediate expectation of conflict. The house operated under a single rule that became legendary among its regular visitors: No fighting before the second stack. Within the walls of IHOP, fledglings learned etiquette, elders debated philosophy, and wandering Kindred found temporary refuge from the endless rivalries of the night. Arguments could be had, alliances could be formed, and grievances could be aired — but the table always came first. Over time, the house gained a reputation across Progeny society as a place that was equal parts sanctuary, curiosity, and social experiment. Some came for diplomacy. Some came for amusement. Others came simply because the doors were always open.
